GENTILOZZI TOPS SECOND TRANS-AM PRACTICE AT MONTREAL
MONTREAL, Quebec (Aug. 26, 2005) -- Paul Gentilozzi set the fastest time thus far this weekend during second-round practice Friday for tomorrow's Trans-Am race, part of the Molson Indy Montreal, at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. Gentilozzi (No. 1 Jaguar R Performance XKR) was nearly two seconds faster than the fastest time set in round one this morning, setting a one minute, 40.832 seconds (96.719 miles per hour).
Points leader Klaus Graf (No. 7 Jaguar R Performance XKR) timed second in the 30-minute session, ahead of Greg Pickett (No. 6 Cytomax/Muscle Milk Jaguar XKR). Tomy Drissi (No. 5 Transporter 2 -- The Movie Jaguar XKR) and Randy Ruhlman (No. 49 Preformed Line Products Chevrolet Corvette) rounded out the top five.
Qualifying for tomorrow's race, which is the Round 9 and the season finale for 2005 Trans-Am Championship, is scheduled for this evening at 5:30 p.m. Saturday's race, which is scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m. tomorrow, will air on a tape-delayed basis, Sept. 13 at 1 p.m. EDT on SPEED Channel.
