What to Watch: Paul Gentilozzi (No. 1 Johnson Controls/HomeLink Jaguar XKR) looks to make history in 2000, seeking his third straight Drivers’ Championship in three different cars (1998, Corvette; 1999, Mustang Cobra; 2000, Jaguar XKR).

Three new cars will make their debut this weekend at Sebring, including Gentilozzi’s Jaguar, the Mangusta (driven by Brian Simo, in the No. 88 Tommy Bahama entry) and the Oldsmobile Aurora, driven by Randy Ruhlman, No. 49 Preformed Line Products. Also this weekend, the series’ new spec rear wing will make its competition debut.

Former Trans-Am Series star Willy T. Ribbs returns for his first series start since 1992, driving the No. 16 Clover Enterprises Chevrolet Camaro. John Paul Jr., who won his only Trans-Am Series start (1983, Trois-Rivieres) also returns, driving the No. 8 TWC Motorsports Chevrolet Corvette.
