PAUL GENTILOZZI'S JAGUAR XKR FASTEST IN FIRST-ROUND TRANS-AM PRACTICE AT TORONTO
TORONTO, Ontario (July 8, 2005) -- Paul Gentilozzi set the fastest time in first-round practice Friday for Saturday's Trans-Am in T.O. race at the Molson Indy Toronto. The four-time Trans-Am champion, driving the No. 1 Jaguar R Performance XKR, turned in a 1:14.197-minute time (85.152 miles per hour) at the 1.755-mile temporary street course.
Gentilozzi's Rocketsports Racing teammate Klaus Graf was second fastest in the No. 7 Jaguar R Performance XKR, ahead of points leader Randy Ruhlman (No. 49 Preformed Line Products Chevrolet Corvette). Greg Pickett (No. 6 Cytomax Jaguar XKR) and John Baucom (No. 86 MAP Quality Engineering/Softwaretoolbox.com Ford Mustang) completed the top five.
Second-round practice is scheduled for today 12:30 p.m., followed by qualifying at 4 p.m. The Trans-Am in the T.O., Round 4 of the 2005 Trans-Am Championship, is scheduled for Saturday, July 9 at 3 p.m. EDT. Saturday's race will air on a tape-delayed basis, Sunday, July 17 at 12:30 p.m. EDT on SPEED Channel.
