Earl's Points Shaken By 13-Race USAC Week
One of the busiest weeks of USAC racing in history 13 races total involving 14 different racing series helped shake up the Earl's Plumbing Fast Qualifier points, which are led by eight different drivers!
Posting Earl's Plumbing Fast Qualifier efforts during USAC racing action last week were Dave Steele (Weld Racing Silver Crown cars at Memphis, TN) Travis Rilat (Valvoline National Sprints at Memphis), Tony Hunt (Western Sprint Cars at Anderson, CA), Steve Paden (Western Midgets at Hanford, CA), and Chris Rahe and Nick Morago (California Ford Focus Midgets).
Earl's FQ honors this week are up for grabs in USAC's Western Midget and California Ford Focus Midget Series at the Bakersfield (Calif.) Speedway as the National series are idle.
Points are traditionally awarded at each USAC event based on an international system awarding the top-six qualifiers with points in the following scale: 1st-9. 2nd-6, 3rd-4, 4th-3, 5th-2, 6th-1.
Each USAC National, Western and Ford Focus Midget Car Earl's Plumbing FQ Champion will be honored at USAC's Champions Night ceremony in Indianapolis in December. The National and Western FQ champs will receive $5,000 each, while the Ford Focus FQ champs will each receive $1,500.
