Ryan Kaplan of Chico, Calif. posted his third victory of the 2003 USAC California Ford Focus Midget Car Series Saturday night, leading the final 21 laps of the 30-lap race at the Irwindale (Calif.) Speedway.
Kaplan trailed Chris Rahe for nine laps, then put his Whit Church & Sons Trucking/Hoserville.com Stealth in the lead for good and held off fast qualifier Josh Lakatos, South Focus point leader Todd Hunsaker, Bradley Galedrige and Bobby McGowan. The race was held on Irwindale's 1/3-mile paved oval.
The California Ford Focuses return to action November 8 at Kings Speedway in Hanford, Calif.
