FF: CN/CS: Irwindale reacp, LVMS preview

Audra Sasselli of Fresno, Calif. recorded a record fifth USAC feature victory for female drivers this season with her 40-lap triumph in Saturday night's California Ford Focus South race at the Irwindale (Calif.) Speedway.

She passed Bradley Galedrige on the 13th lap and led the rest of the way in her Custom Hay Roadsiding/Clawson Motorsports Stealth for her second win of the year. She was followed by fast qualifier Bobby McGowan, series point leader Chris Rahe, Bobby Owens and Ryan Pace.

The California Ford Focus North and South Series participants now head for Las Vegas, Nev. and this Saturday night's "tripleheader" racing program at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. A 30-lap Focus feature precedes 40-lappers for the USAC Valvoline Western Sprint Cars and Western Midgets.

Rahe, of Placentia, Calif., leads the South series standings into the Las Vegas race, while he trails Galedrige, of Los Altos, Calif., by 60 points in the North standings.

Saturday night's race will mark the debut of USAC Ford Focus racing in the Silver State.
