Indy ORP: Edwards/RET preview

CAMERON DODSON AND CARL EDWARDS/ R.E. TECHNOLOGIES RACING AIMS FOR ANOTHER PODIUM FINISH AT O'REILLY RACEWAY PARK

Memphis, Tenn. -- Cameron Dodson and the Carl Edwards/ R.E. Technologies Racing are looking to return to the podium Thursday night at the J. D. Byrider 100, presented by TourHendricksCounty.com at O'Reilly Raceway Park.JJThe team has recorded three podiums this season. Team owner Carl Edwards drove the No. 199 at the J.D. Byrider 100 in 2006 thrilling the crowd with a late race battle for the lead. The NASCAR Nextel Cup driver battled with veteran Brian Tyler until Edward's arm restraint got caught in the steering wheel causing the No. 199 to slide sideways down the front stretch. The Missouri native righted the Ford powered machine and finished second. This weekend Edwards will watch his team compete for their first win at the .686 mile oval. Carl Edwards/ R.E. The J.D. Byrider 100 activities get underway Thursday at 5:30pm with practice. Qualifying is set for 7pm and the 100 lap race is scheduled to go green at 8:30pm.

POINTS UPDATE

The No. 199 Carl Edwards/ R.E. Technologies Ford, Hoosier Tires, Red Line Oil entry leads the USAC Silver Crown Series owner's points heading into ORP. Driver Cameron Dodson heads to Indy fourth in the driver's points standings. Dodson is now only 12 points out of third place.
