FIRST OF 30 KENYON MIDGET RACES SUNDAY AT ANDERSON

INDIANAPOLIS -- An expanded USAC Kenyon Midget Car Series schedule will give up-and-coming drivers the opportunity to race no less than 30 times, weather permitting, starting Sunday at Anderson (Ind.) Speedway as part of the track's Banjo Corporation "Glen Niebel Classic."

In its fourth season under the USAC banner, the Kenyon Midget Car Series, which had its first two seasons scheduled exclusively at the 1/5-mile Indianapolis Speedrome, will begin its busiest schedule on the quarter-mile, the same track that hosted the season opener and finale last season. This time, Anderson will host seven races.

Mt. Lawn Speedway in New Castle, Ind., Plymouth (Ind.) Speedway, Madison International Speedway in Oregon, Wis. and Grundy County Speedway in Morris, Ill. will also host the series.

Gone are many drivers who made up last season's Top 10 in points. Defending series champion Chris Windom has moved up to the USAC National Sprint and Midget ranks, while his fellow antagonist, Sammy Imel, will drive local Sprint cars. Dakoda Armstrong, the 2004 series champion, also makes the move to Sprint cars, while Kenny Biro jumps into a Midget.

Blake Fitzpatrick, who ended the season on a hot streak with three victories in the final seven races, is the early season favorite for the championship, along with second-year driver Caleb Armstrong, Dakoda's younger cousin, who won two races in 2006.
