2004 FQ WISE RETURNS TO BEAVER DAM SATURDAY

Josh Wise of Riverside, Calif. was the fastest qualifier for last year's USAC National Midget race at the Raceway @ Powercom Park where the series resumes Saturday night in Beaver Dam, Wis. The Beaver Dam event is a "twilight" program, with gates opening at 11 am, practice at 1 pm and racing at 4.

The National Midgets will resume the 2005 campaign, which has been idle since the "Copper World Classic" in Phoenix, Ariz. in January. Wise ranks seventh in the series standings and the 2004 series runner-up will be seeking his third career series triumph.

Saturday's program at Beaver Dam's 1/3-mile dirt oval features both the USAC National Midgets and Valvoline National Sprint Cars, with 30-lap features for both series following complete prelims.

Former USAC Triple Crown Champ J.J. Yeley, defending National Midget Champ Bobby East, defending Valvoline National Sprint Car Champ Jay Drake and defending Weld Racing Silver Crown Champ Dave Steele rank 1-4 in the current National Midget points following their Phoenix finishes.

Tracy Hines holds the 1-lap USAC Midget track record of 14.933 seconds which he established in 1997.
