THOMAN RETURNS WEDNESDAY TO DEFEND REGIONAL MIDGET TITLE
Scott Thoman of Indianapolis, Ind. begins defense of his 2006 USAC Regional Midget Championship this Wednesday night as DK Promotions opens the 2007 "Wednesday Night Thunder" campaign at Mount Lawn Speedway in New Castle, Ind.
James Robertson of Indianapolis, Ind., last year's Indiana Focus Midget Champ, has moved over to the Regional Midget Series this season, while 2006 USAC Kenyon Midget Champion Chris Windom is competing in the USAC Lucas Oil Sprint Car Series full-time. Robertson's 2006 championship Focus car will be piloted by Knightstown, Ind. driver Robbie Parish this year.
A special "Wednesday Night Thunder" championship will be honored this season, with driver and car owner points from each of the three competing series combined to produce titlists who will be honored at season's end.
Wednesday night's New Castle program consists of 30-lap feature events for Midgets, Focus Midgets and Kenyon Midgets, plus competition for Legend Cars competing under the KOIL (Kentukcy, Ohio, Indiana) Legends banner.
