TQ: Irwindale results

J.J. Ercse of Lakewood, Calif., USAC's 1993 MCI WorldCom TQ Midget Car Champion, has two victories and a second at Irwindale (Calif.) Speedway already this season. He'll try to add win number three this Saturday night when the series returns for another 20-lap contest on the 1/3-mile paved oval. Ercse won at Irwindale on April 22 and July 8 but took second behind Walt Johnson on May 13. He leads Johnson by 31 points in the series standings in quest of a second championship. Other 2000 race winners in the TQ Midget Car series this season have been Ron Wade and Dennis Hart (twice each) and Greg Edenholm.
