A new communications manager at the A.C.O
Patrick Chaillou has been appointed the new A.C.O Communications Manager following in the footsteps of Fabrice Bourrigaud (now in the marketing management department) and Francis Reste (KDLG Communications).
He is a local lad and sums up his mission as follows: "My aim is to provide on-going communication about the magic of the world of endurance, help prepare the A.C.O's centenary in 2006, keep my finger on the pulse of an association that unites professionals and volunteers and bring alive the intensity of the 24-Hour car race which looks like it's going to be better than ever. Then experience the thrill of the Suzuki-Yamaha duel in the greatest endurance race for motor bikes and transmit the philosophy and viewpoint of a Club that has 100 000 drivers. It's a challenge that is both varied and exciting. Living the day-to-day existence of a club, which is a pioneer in the history of the motor car, while expressing just how modern it is is like marrying Marylyn Monroe when you love the American cinema!"
Patrick is forty-one years old and was a sports journalist for seventeen years (three with the regional press, and fourteen with magazines). He was also a consultant for the Eurosport and Pathé TV channels. For the past six years he was the client manager in the Belouga Communications Agency. In 2003, the year of Bentley's triumphant return to the Sarthe he wrote the book "24 Hours, the longest lap."
