24 Hours of Le Mans -- Six-Hour Update
LE MANS, France (June 16) -- A quarter of the way through the 24 Hours of Le Mans [9:00 pm local time], the Barazi Epsilon-entered #33 Zytek 07S/2 sportscar sponsored by Lowe's leads the LMP2 class and is shown ninth overall. Adrian Fernandez started the race 15th overall after claiming the LMP2 class pole, and the team has now cycled through its driver line-up with Haruki Kurosawa handling the second stint followed by Robbie Kerr.
Fernandez began his second stint just after the five-hour mark and posted the fastest lap to date for the team -- a 3:41.916. He is currently in the car.
Tom Anderson, Lowe's Fernandez Racing Team Co-Owner/Managing Director:
"Right now, everything is on schedule. The weather has cleared out and it looks like the evening may be dry. This is the most blue sky we have had all day and it is 9:00 pm so we are hopeful that the weather will remain good. The car is performing flawlessly. Adrian just posted his fastest lap on this stint. We've settled into a routine. The [Michelin] tires look good and we may even triple-stint the drivers and tires going into the night."
