World of Outlaws Sprint Series to Conclude 2005 Season with Banquet and '06 Preview Party

Las Vegas -- Oct. 19, 2005 -- The checkered flag on the 2005 World of Outlaws Sprint Series season waves Saturday night at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, but that won't officially close the season.

Before everybody heads into the winter to rebuild and resupply for 2006, drivers, promoters, officials and sponsors will gather on Sunday night at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas for a private preview of the 2006 World of Outlaws Sprint Series season, which launches Feb. 9-10 at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Fla.

Following that on Monday at the Palms Casino Resort, the 2005 World of Outlaws Sprint Series racers will be honored at the series' annual banquet, where the drivers and teams will receive their share of the $840,000 point fund.

The season finale -- race nights 90 and 91 this year -- begins Friday with gates opening at 6 p.m. at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, qualifying at 6:30 p.m. and racing to follow.
