Kaeding Battles World of Outlaws at 'The PAS'
LAKE PERRIS, CA (October 20) -- Although Tim Kaeding finished 21st in Saturday's "A" Feature at Perris Auto Speedway, he showed what he and Tom Rolfe Racing are made of in the World of Outlaws' star-studded First Heat Race.
Starting at the rear of the eight-lap race against Paul McMahan, Jason Meyers, series champions Steve Kinser and Danny Lasoski, 1986 Rookie of the Year Johnny Herrera, 2000 Gumout Series titlist Craig Dollansky and Australian champion Brooke Tatnell, "TK" drove the #10 Tom Rolfe Trucking Maxim into fifth place to qualify for the main event.
"The highlight of our night came in the heat race," Tim said. "It was pretty stacked, but we got into a transfer spot and stayed there. We wanted to advance farther, but racing with Steve Kinser and Craig Dollansky is tough. It was a hard-fought battle to get up there, I know that."
Starting inside the 12th row in the 30-lap "A" Feature, Kaeding passed Brandon Wimmer and Chad Hillier early, then exchanged positions with World of Outlaws veterans Terry McCarl and Justin Henderson on his way to the 21st-place finish.
"We snuck by a couple of guys at the beginning of the race," Tim said. "Trying to get more positions, you get some and you lose some. The track was good if you were up front but, starting in the back, you weren't going to get by too many guys because you couldn't create a top line."
