Elma, WA -- Aug. 27, 2005 -- Scheduling conflicts make it unable for the World of Outlaws Sprint Series to compete Sept. 20 in a make-up from an early season rainout at Tri-State Speedway in Pocola, Okla., and in an event originally slated for Oct. 4 at Lernerville Speedway.
"Both races had problems on the scheduling end," said Shane Carson, DIRT MotorSports VP of Race Operations. "There wasn't enough turnaround time for the teams to cross the country and reach the sites of the events that follow these races we had to cancel."
The Outlaws compete Sept. 16-17 at Eagle Raceway in Eagle, Neb., and have to be in Jackson, Minn., to race on Sept. 23, making an excursion south to Pocola only to backtrack the next day a difficult task for all teams, series and equipment involved.
The race at Lernerville would have left little more than two days for the series to travel the nearly 20-hour, 1,300-mile trek to Dodge City, Kan., for an Oct. 7-8 event. The Outlaws now will complete the Sept. 30-Oct. 1 race at Williams Grove Speedway and head to Kansas.
The World of Outlaws Sprint Series is brought to the fans across the country by several sponsors and partners, including series sponsors Hoosier Racing Tire, Stacker 2®, and The Outdoor Channel. Promotional Partners include AMB i.t., RACEceiver, HUMMERSGONEWILD.COM, Zippo Lighters, The University of Northwestern Ohio and Timberwolf. Slick 50 is an Associate Program Sponsor and Contingency sponsors include DART Machinery, MSD Ignitions, and Wrisco Industries.
