ARC Report on Acropolis Rally

Michael Guest and David Green retire from Acropolis Rally just before SS4 with an engine suffering from overheating. At the main service the mechanics replaced a leaking hose to the turbo charger but the damage was done. It appears as though the overheating led to head gasket failure.

Michael and David noticed the leaking hose after SS2. They repaired themselves but the engine had lost too much water. After the main service with new hose fitted and full of water the engine lasted only 20 kms before losing water and then not starting to begin SS4.

The whole Team is most disappointed for Michael and David. They showed so much promise for this event. Pre event testing showed that the car was well set up for a solid performance here in Greece.

The Team is now packing and preparing to send equipment to New Zealand and China for the next 2 WRC events.
