Petter and Chris started the final day carrying only one spare tyre with the intention of reducing weight for the Power Stage and potential bonus points. A broken front left wheel for leader Sebastien Ogier 13km into the first stage of the day moved them up to 4th place, leaving the lead open for Ogier's Citroen team mate Sebastien Loeb.

With most drivers opting for a cautious approach through SS21, all attention focused on the final stage of the day, the Guanajuato Power Stage. Petter and Chris set a blistering time, but were fractionally beaten by Sebastien Loeb. The stage win, and three bonus points went to Mikko Hirvonen, with Petter gaining one bonus point for third. Loeb was the overall winner of Rally Mexico, while Hirvonen's second place finish plus bonus points extend his lead in the driver's championship.

- It's been a good weekend, says Petter Solberg. - Considering the time loss after the problems on Friday, being fourth today is really good! We have definitely proved we have the speed and bringing home 13 points is good. There have been a few minor issues with the new car but we managed to solve them and know what caused it. Now we are preparing for Portugal.

Petter Solberg World rally Team earned 12 Manufacturers' points from this event putting them 4th in the Manufacturers' championship.
