Russian LADA World Touring Car Takes Shape
Atlanta, GA: Fresh from its world debut at the Moscow Motor Show, the LADA WTCC program begins to take shape in preparation for the 2006 season. A mock-up of the LADA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) car was unveiled at ceremonies conducted during the recent Moscow Motor Show on November 3rd . Vliadimir I. Guba, head of research and development at Avtavaz/LADA Group was present when the car was first unveiled for attending media.
The mock up is based on the LADA 2110 production car, which will make its competition debut in the 2006 WTCC. The car is undergoing wind tunnel and aerodynamic testing at LADA's extensive facility in Togliati, Russia.
LADA is Russia's largest car manufacturer with an output of 700,000 cars per year. LADA Racing is the Russian-German organization that was formed in conjunction with Avtovaz/LADA Group to enter and campaign the LADA in the 2006 WTCC. Norbert Ruths, the racing director and Andreas Ruths, the technical director, both of MTec Sport are supervising the development of the LADA WTCC project.
