Huff fastest in testing session

Rob Huff got his Macau weekend off to a perfect start on Thursday when he topped the times during the testing session for the FIA World Touring Car Championship finale.

The Chevrolet driver, who is locked in a three-way battle for the runners- up position in the standings with Andy Priaulx and Gabriele Tarquini, was consistently quick throughout the session before setting his best lap just one minute from the end.

"That was a good session, although we have to remember it's only a test session," said the British driver. "The car feels very good already but the track was very green - which meant it was quite slippery.

"The F3 boys have a lot more downforce so they don't have to use as much track as us. We have to get very close to the barriers to set the times, where it can be quite dusty, so it was pretty tricky out there."

Behind Huff, his Chevrolet team-mate Alain Menu was second fastest - 0.354 seconds behind as the drivers got more comfortable with the track ahead of Friday's opening practice sessions.

Former FIA WTCC champion Priaulx was third quickest in his BMW, ahead of Tom Coronel in his SEAT and this year's title winner Yvan Muller in his Chevrolet. Tarquini ended up eighth.

The session was red-flagged within minutes of it starting when Chan Kin Man in his Honda Accord and Andrei Romanov in his BMW both struck the barriers just before the Hospital bend.
