"I have been pleased with the car all year but I just haven't had the best of luck in races. I hope my second pole of the season will equate to my first win. Considering the difficult conditions I am very happy to be on pole. It was tricky to judge how to play the qualifying session because the track was getting quicker, therefore we didn't know when to go out. The secret to doing well in the session was to push hard but make no mistakes. Half a metre wide would have put you in the gravel. The Toledo won a race here last year but I would say the León is even better and its ability to handle a change of direction is it's strength."

Salvatore TAVANO N.technology, 2nd fastest
"I am very happy for both myself and the team that we will begin from 2nd tomorrow because we have worked very hard. I just hope for some more good results for tomorrow. Yes, I would like to win here but I'm not focusing on it too much, we need to stay concentrated on the races."

Ryan SHARP JAS Motorsport, 3rd fastest
"Third position is a fantastic result. We have grown race by race and we came here confident because the car was so good here last year. I really didn't know what to expect from qualifying because the track is constantly changing. To be on provisional pole for a few minutes was great and I would have liked to stay there but being where I am makes it more exciting. I have no expectations for the race but I know I am going to go for the race win because I have no championship position to worry about."

Augusto FARFUS N.technology, 4th fastest
"I am quite happy to be 4th because it was not easy out there and we had some problems at the start of the weekend. At this track our cars seem to be better than the BMWs so it is a good opportunity for us to collect some valuable points. Giovanardi won here last year in an Alfa so we are working hard for the same result."

Tom CORONEL GR Asia, 5th fastest
"Last year the Honda was the fastest on the track so I was not surprised to see Sharp do so well. But I think 5th for me is brilliant because I am usually closer to 10th. I see a real possibility to do well tomorrow and when you smell potential it makes you even more determined."

Andy PRIAULX BMW Team UK, 10th fastest
"I am a lot happier now than I was at the start of the day. We are improving and considering the weight and the condition of the track I feel we have done well to make the top ten. At the start of the weekend I was hoping to get a point but now I am a little bit more optimistic that the reverse grid can work in my favour. It just depends if I can compete with the front wheel drive cars that appear to be handling the track better."
