Monteiro gets to grips with Seat Leon in WTCC

Tiago Monteiro accepted an invitation from Paulo Ferreira (co-promoter of the WTCC race of Oporto) Jaime Puig (Seat Sport Team Manager) to test the Seat Leon car on 23 January 2007 in Valencia. The day was a success as Monteiro covered 78 laps and set some very encouraging lap times.

"It was a very useful day in Valencia," Monteiro said. "I tested the car and simulated a race, qualifying session and starts. It was a very interesting experience as I didn't think that a touring car could be so reactive and fast. It was really exciting and I had lot of fun at the wheel. Fortunately weather conditions were calm and sunny perfect for a test."

"I was really impressed by the team and met official drivers Jordi Gene and Gabriele Tarquini. It was good to hear so much positive feedback on my driving and my lap times. I'd like to thank Jaime Puig and Paulo Ferreira for giving me the opportunity to test in a completely different discipline."
