Close to 5000km for the first test day
The A1 Grand Prix teams started today a three-day test session at the Paul Ricard HTTT. After unveiling the team this morning, Team USA set the fastest lap ahead of Brazil and France.
Not less than three famous former Formula One World Champions were present at the track today. English John Surtees (F1 World Champion in 1964) Chairman for A1 Team Great Britain, Brazilian Emerson Fittipaldi (1972 & 1974) seat holder for A1 Team Brazil and Finnish Keke Rosberg (1982) coming to discover the Series.
The 20 teams (USA, Brazil, France, Great Britain, Mexico, Portugal, New Zealand, Ireland, Australia, Malaysia, Netherlands, Pakistan, Switzerland, South Africa, Germany, Lebanon, India, Indonesia, China and Russia), decided to chose the 2Dsc track (out of the 180 possible solutions) to complete almost 5000km during the 6 hours of track opening.
The test will go on with same program tomorrow.
