Edoardo Piscopo hits the top in Sepang debut
Edoardo Piscopo matched the expectations at Sepang by being among the fastest men on-track in the first rookie practice held on the Malaysian circuit. The driver from Rome took his Lola-Zytek to 4th place, lapping in 1:53.161, while the best time of the day was set by experienced Oliver Jarvis in 1:52.013. Piscopo joined Team Italy as a 2nd driver for the first time this weekend, after entering an half-day test at Silverstone, and was targeting a top-5 result despite the total lack of experience on the racetrack.
EDOARDO PISCOPO
"I came at Sepang with no laps on the racetrack behind my shoulders, and though it was a rookie test, there were many experienced drivers on-track. I was determined to have a decent performance, but since there was not too much time available, I tried not to take risks in what was only my second run with the car. In the first session I was concentrated on pure driving, while in the second one I tried to approach some tuning in the car's set-up. In the end I scored 4th, just one second behind Oliver Jarvis, who already won a race in A1GP. I'm sure there's still room for a big improvement."
