NOTES OF INTEREST:
The American Le Mans Series returns to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course after a one-year absence due to scheduling conflicts in 2003. The race will be the first for the series following the 24 Hours of Le Mans and many of the same drivers and teams that compete June 12-13 in France will also compete in American Le Mans at Mid-Ohio. The race will mark the debut of the new Lamborghini factory-affiliated Krohn-Barbour Racing team, which will run a pair of Lamborghini Murcielago R-GT cars in the GTS class. Also debuting in the event is the new Panoz Esperante GT-LM, fielded as a factory entry in the GT class by Panoz Motor Sports. The race will mark the third time that the ALMS has competed at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
