SEBRING, Fla. (March 16, 2002) - It was a tough day at Sebring International Speedway for Darren Law and the #66 Racer's Group Porsche team. An unfortunate incident in Hour Two cut the Porsche team's 12-Hour day short.
Law's teammate, Michael Schrom made contact with LMP900 about 40 minutes into his stint. The contact caused Schrom to slide off the track in Turn 13. Due to a broken front suspension, the Porsche was stuck out on the track and forced to retire from the race.
Since team owner Kevin Buckler started the race and Schrom's incident happened during the second hour, Law never got any seat time.
"I appreciate the opportunity to drive for the Racer's Group," Law said. "It's too bad we had the suspension problem. We really had a shot at a podium finish."
Law will be back in racing action in one week at the California Speedway in Fontana.
