ESR Tops ARCA Speed Chart at Nashville Test
NASHVILLE, TN (Mar. 16, 2007) - Eddie Sharp Racing Development Team driver Josh Wise piloted his # 22 ESR Dodge to the fastest speed at the Nashville Superspeedway in official ARCA testing.
"The car feels likes its on rails," said Wise, 2006 USAC Midget . "Champion Its so good, I couldn't even get a tire to slip through the . "corners" .
Wise, who was unofficially clocked by ARCA officials at 29.960, stole the top spot on the first of two days worth of testing for ESR. A closed test session scheduled the day after the official ARCA test was cut short due to rain. Michael McDowell, driver of the # 2 Z-Line Designs ESR Dodge ran a handful of laps before weather moved in to cancel on-track activity.
"I'm learning a lot about the intermediate racetracks," said McDowell. "We ran lap times comparable to Josh's on Thursday and feel confident heading back after learning so much".
The test was used in preparation for the upcoming April 7 ARCA 150 at the Nashville Superspeedway. It will be both Josh Wise and Michael McDowell's first start on the 1.33 mile concrete oval. Team owner Eddie Sharp feels confident about the team's chances going into the third race of the season.
"After this week's test, I am even more impressed by the talent our drivers have," said Sharp. "It is nice to be fast, but even better that they learn and understand these unfamiliar racetracks".
