Hedlesky and Curtis Compressor Qualifies 16th at ARCA REMAX Series Talladega 250
Talladega, A.L. (October 5, 2007) - Teaming up with Robert Yates Racing for the first time, Jason Hedlesky, driving a Robert Yates Ford Fusion and a Rausch Yates Ford engine, qualified the Curtis Air Compressor No. 7 in the 16th position. Well into the most competitive field ever assembled by the ARCA REMAX Series, Hedlesky clocked in with a time of 52.518.
With 60 teams competing for 41 spots on the starting grid, names like Earnhardt and Ganassi Racing were among the teams that did not qualify. REMAX points leader Frank Kimmel qualified 9th with a time of 52.294; 2007 Indy 500 champion, Dario Franchitti, with his celeb wife Ashley Judd looking on, qualified 6th with a time of 52.052.
There will be a Happy Hour Practice this morning at 10:00 AM then a full day of Cup practice while the impounded ARCA cars await their 4:00 PM Green Flag.
"This is a great opportunity to spend time with current and prospective customers, as well as our customers' customers," said Jay Hedges, Curtis Air Compressor Vice President of Sales and Marketing. This is an experience few will forget, as Talladega has taken on an electric, Mardi Gras like atmosphere."
