Bowsher Focused on Finale
With the two previous superspeedway races producing strong 12th place finishes, Talladega in September of 03 and Daytona in February of this year, Todd Bowsher is focused on the ARCA ReMax Series season finale on Saturday at Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama.
Following the energetic run in Daytona in February Bowsher was pumped for the remainder of the ARCA ReMax Series schedule, the 12th place finish handed Bowsher some experience and insight into what he needs to be successful on the 2.66 mile tri-oval in Talladega and he and the GFS Marketplace Team plan to use that headed into Alabama this weekend. Bowsher maneuvered his GFS Marketplace Ford Taurus from the 41st starting position through the field to the lead draft and wheeled to the Daytona finish line in the 12th position.
"We gained a lot of valuable knowledge in Daytona when it comes to restrictor plate racing. I learned a lot as a driver about how the car works and feels in the draft, that race taught me more than all of my superspeedway races together". He added, "It makes such a difference when you have a good car like we had at Daytona it brought some definition to the problems that we've struggled through in the past on the big tracks. We've got Daytona behind us now and looking to use all that insight to a stronger performance at Talladega this weekend, we've got those two 12th place superspeedway finishes and we're hoping this last race of the season will yield a better finish, depending on how things play out with the draft and who you can trust on the track."
The GFS Marketplace Team heads to Talladega, AL for the Food World 300 on Saturday October 2, the season finale for the ARCA ReMax Series, with live coverage on SPEED at 2pm e.t.
