Hunter-Reay takes the provisional pole, secures front-row start.

Hunter-Reay secured his third consecutive front row start today, by winning the provisional pole position at Laguna Seca. Along with his front row start, he earned his fourth championship point, moving him up another position in the series standings. Hunter-Reay will go for another point tomorrow morning at 9:00 am in final qualifying. <pre> Ryan Hunter-Reay, #1 Medlock Ames Winery/u.s. print/Toyota/Swift EVENT RESULTS TIME SPEED Mph Friday Morning Practice: 3rd 1.21.038 99.420 Friday Qualifying: 1st 1.19.433 101.429 </pre> Hunter-Reay on practice:
"We had a few struggles this morning. I spent some time getting reacquainted with the track and we had some issues with the handling. We made some pretty drastic changes to the car at the end of the morning session that made a big difference. This is my first time here with the Atlantic car and there is definitely a lot more mid-corner speed, it is a lot of fun."

Hunter-Reay on Qualifying:
"This seems to be the only way I can get any points, but I'll take them! It was a really good session for us. We went the right direction this morning and made one more change early in the session, which was the right change. Once I got back out there, there was a little bit of traffic, but it was not too much of an issue. I found my groove and I was having a lot of fun out there. We need to make a couple of small changes to the car for the low speed corners but other than that the car is good."
