RIGON GRABS THE FIRST 2007 POLE
Davide Rigon (Minardi by GP Racing) and Alx Danielsson (Elk Motorsport) secured themselves first row of the starting grid for the opening race of the 2007 season of Euroseries 3000 and of the Italian F.3000 Championship. In Vallelunga Rigon was the fastest driver and with a best time of 1'24"698 he will start from the pole position on Sunday morning in race 1.
The Sweden Danielsson tried everything to attack the Italian, leading the timesheets midway through the session, only for Rigon to do better than him: Danielsson's final time is 1'24"828.
Olivier Martini (RC Motorsport) had himself overtook the Minardi driver for a few minutes, but he will start from the second row of the grid with the fourth time of 1'25"381. A few thousands of a second faster than him was Diego Nunez, confirming the good performance of the Minardi/GP Racing drivers: the Brazilian, who grabbed the third slot, scorched a lap of 1'25"375.
The Brazilian Luiz Razia (Fisichella Motor Sport) and the Ecuadorean Sebastian Merchan (Elk Motorsport) will start from the third row. Davide Amaduzzi (Paragon / Dueppì) was tenth quickest with the best Lola '99.
Race 1 (18 laps) will be starting on Sunday at 11.00 h, while Race 2 (23 laps) is scheduled for 16:10 h. Both will be broadcast live on Nuvolari TV. <pre> QUALIFYING Vallelunga 1.
