SCCA, Evolution Driving School Give More Drive Time at The Tire Rack SCCA Solo National Tour Events
TOPEKA, Kan. (April 30, 2004) -- Sports Car Club of America Solo Department announced today a new agreement with Evolution Performance Driving School to recognize Evolution as an official autocross school and offer private, in-car instruction on a practice course for SCCA Solo competitors from top-level Soloists at The Tire Rack® SCCA Solo National Tour events.
"The SCCA Solo Department is very pleased that we are able to join efforts with Evolution Driving School," Director of Solo and Road Rally Tasha Goodale said. "With this new arrangement, we provide our members with yet another opportunity to sharpen their skill level behind the wheel and get more out of being a part of The Tire Rack® SCCA Solo National Tour."
Heading the impressive instructors' list includes several 2003 The Tire Rack® SCCA Solo National Champions such as Super Stock winner Pat Salerno, D Stock winner Ron Bauer and F Stock champion Mike Johnson, Jr.
"It's very flattering and an honor to work with SCCA," Evolution Driving Performance School Owner Jean Kinser said. "This program will definitely help competitors as they have the cream of the crop instructing them. We hope this will join those individuals who maybe aren't members yet, or are just starting out in Solo, with some quality people and further raise Evolution Performance Driving School participants' interest in SCCA."
SCCA and SCCA Region officials will continue to have full control of event operations. Those responsibilities include, but are not limited to, Solo Safety Steward duties, course control and tech inspection.
At the event, Evolution Driving School participants will have two hours prior to the start of the event to run the practice course.
The program will begin with the Washington, D.C., National Tour event, May 29-30, and will run the rest of the year.
For more information regarding the new program, contact Jean Kinser by phone at (407) 889-7207, or by email at jean77@evolutionschool.biz.
The next stop on The Tire Rack® SCCA Solo National Tour is this weekend, May 1-2, at Castle Airport in Atwater, Calif. For more information about The Tire Rack® SCCA Solo National Tour, visit the newly-remodeled SCCA web site at www.scca.com.
