FOURTH ROW START FOR HITECH AT BRANDS
Hitech Racing driver Walter Grubmuller will line up on the fourth row for Round 13 of the British Formula 3 International Series at Brands Hatch today. The Austrian posted the ninth quickest time in session one with Briton Max Chilton 13th. However several drivers were penalised for overtaking or not slowing down under yellow flags and the pair were elevated to seventh and 10th respectively.
In the second session Walter was 11th quickest with Max 12th ahead of the two races to be held at the Kent track today.
Walter Grubmuller: "First qualifying was good. I was running fifth for much of the session although I dropped back to ninth, but I'm fairly happy with the pace and the car is good. In the second session I got a bit of traffic and that prevented me from getting a clear lap and improving my time.I think it should be possible to get a podium finish in race one though and another points finish in race two."
Max Chilton: "The first session wasn't brilliant. We managed to put some quick times in but I only managed to find around three tenths from Friday's practice and everyone else found a lot more. We made some changes between the two qualifying sessions which felt better as the tyres were new and were able to go a tenth quicker. In the races I think we should be able to get two points-scoring finishes."
Team Principal David Hayle: "Both Walter and Max drove well in qualifying and made some improvements from Friday's test. Walter struggled a bit with traffic in the second session and I'm certain without that he would have been able to improve his times. Both are in a good position for a top ten finish in the two races and hopefully a podium is also possible for Walter."
