Ricciardello and Owen battle for early lead as Quinn charges from the rear of the field
Two drivers aspiring to secure a drive in the 2009 V8 Supercar Champinship Series, Tony Ricciardello and Steve Owen, battled for the lead during the first hour in the WPS Bathurst 12 Hour Showroom Enduro.
Owen started from pole position in the Supabarn Supermarkets Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IV but Ricciardello took over the front running on the opening lap.
The pair exchanged the fastest lap times and the lead throughout the opening hour. Owen began to experience a problem with fifth gear late in the hour and is currently seventh.
After qualifying in third place yesterday aboard the VIP Pet Foods Mitsubishi Evo IV Klark Quinn was forced to start from pit lane for the race when he wasn't prepared prior to pit lane exit closing.
Quinn has shown superb pace during the opening hour to pass 41 cars and is currently in sixth place.
