TRV Earns 11th Starting Spot for USRRC Race at Mid-Ohio

LEXINGTON, Ohio, June 13 - Jeret Schroeder of Vineland, N.J., put TRV Motorsport's Supreme Exhaust System Products/Purity Farms Chevy Kudzu No. 95 firmly in the field Saturday afternoon for Sunday's U.S. Road Racing Championship (USRRC) race at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Co-driver and team owner Tom Volk of Blissfield, Mich., will be behind the wheel at the start of the race Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. The event is part of the Mid-Ohio Road Racing Classic.

The team, which is based in Toledo, Ohio, earned the 11th starting spot overall and eighth in the top class, Can-Am, with an average speed of 98.833 mph around the 2.25-mile road course. The pole went to one of the Riley & Scott Mk. III Fords and drivers James Weaver, Butch Leitzinger and Dorsey Schroeder.

The weekend so far has been one of intermittent showers. The track was wet for the start of the qualifying session, but the team switched from rain tires to Goodyear slicks before Schroeder went out.

The team was also busy Saturday morning making some aerodynamic modifications to the front of the car under the direction of team engineer John Greene.

"The changes are small but they're going to help," said Volk. "It's great to have an engineer who understands what the drivers are saying about the car and comes up with things to try in order to make it go better."

Same-day coverage of the 2 and one-half hour race is scheduled to be broadcast on the Fox Sports Network at 7 p.m. EDT Sunday. The show will be rebroadcast on Monday, June 15 at 9 p.m. EDT on Speedvision.
