Big River report 2002-05-04

BONNE TERRE, MO. -- (May 4, 2002) Kenny "Lawnmower Man" Head of Ste. Genevieve was the top eliminator Saturday night in the Vehicle ET class at Big River Sand Drags. Head had finished second in the class, but he defeated first place finisher Philip Beard of St. Louis in the top eliminator race.

David Mallow of Bonne Terre captured first place in the Open 4x4 class, but it was Steve Barton of Bonne Terre taking home top eliminator honors. Todd Dee of Leadwood was the first place and top eliminator winner in the Off Road Modified class. Wayne Harris of Belgrade finished in second place.

Ralph Smith of Mineral Point captured first place and top eliminator honors in Stock Buggy. The second place finisher was disqualified for not crossing the scales.

In Super Pro ATV, Matt Cunningham of Salem, Ill. was the winner with Jim Burns of Bonne Terre taking home second place and top eliminator. In Pro ATV, Andy Skiles of Potosi picked up both first place and top eliminator honors while Ricky Robinson of High Ridge finished in second place.

In ATV-1, Colby Hulsey of Bonne Terre was the winner and top eliminator while Nathan Yates of Blackwell finished second.

In Junior ATV, Cameron Coleman of Hillsboro captured first place with Allie Glatczak taking home second.

There is no racing at Big River Sand Drags this weekend. Racing action will continue on Saturday, May 18th with Kid's Day. All kids age 12 & under will be admitted free.
