EPPING, NH-- One race after qualifying in the quickest and fastest Pro Modified field and reaching the quarter-finals at the expense of the low qualifier, Mike Castellana was scratching his head at the conclusion of qualifying for the IHRA Parts Pro North American Nationals in Epping, N.H. Castellana made clean passes, but just didn't have enough horsepower to crack into the field.
Castellana ran a 6.59/215.03 in his first run, but by-passed the fuel check negating the run. It didn't matter as he was .001 off of the bump spot. He improved during the final qualifying lap with a 6.560/216.00 and that was not quick enough to crack the tough 6.503 bubble.
Mike Castellana's Western Beef' / Awesome Motorsports team will continue their championship quest at the IHRA CARQUEST Autumn Nationals in Rockingham, NC, September 24-26. Each Pro Modified contestant will be afforded four qualifying attempts during the course of the event, and the quickest sixteen will compete in final eliminations on Sunday. The event will be televised on ESPN2 with the dates to be published in an upcoming issue of IHRA's Drag Review magazine.
