Team Modena on Pace in LMS Test

Team Modena conducted a successful two day test of their Ferrari 430 GT at the Paul Ricard High Tech Test Track in France on Sunday and Monday of last week - running for the first time against some of the teams they will be racing against once the Le Mans Series kicks off in Spain next month. With drivers Antonio Garcia and Leo Mansell both in attendance, the team once more worked through a structured test programme with their new car prior to its race debut in Barcelona over the first weekend of next month.

"We ran in full 2009 specification," said Team Principal Graham Schultz, "which not everyone was doing, and we were quick in all four sessions. Antonio was right on the pace and Leo was getting quicker at a very technical circuit he had never visited before - both drivers did a very good job.

"We achieved all the goals we had set ourselves and were able to try a few things out and make some changes on the car. It was a good professional test for us."

"We had on the 2009 aero, restrictor and ride height," said Team Manager Hans Muelhbauer, "and did over 1,100km of running with no problems. We tried some different things on the brakes and with the aero, but all our time was focussed on getting the car right for Barcelona, we did not try soft tyres, and we are very happy with the test."

The Ferrari was in its new Team Modena livery for the first time - a predominately red body with Team Modena logos - and was one of the chosen cars for the organiser's staged picture of cars of each class that started off the weekend. The test, an official LMS event, offered ample track time on the 5.7km circuit, the Ferrari completing 58-laps in Sunday morning's session alone.
