AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX - Melbourne 1999 Qualifying - March 6th

The Arrows Team finished the qualifying session for the Australian Grand Prix with Toranosuke Takagi in 17th and Pedro de la Rosa in 18th position.

Toranosuke Takagi - 17th - Car 15 "The car wasn't too bad to drive and we did not have any major problems. I think it will be a very fast race tomorrow and I will be pushing every lap. It is my goal to finish the race tomorrow and produce a good result for the team."

Pedro de la Rosa - 18th - Car 14 "I am happy with my result, although I felt that I had an opportunity to improve on my position if I would not have made a mistake on the track. The car felt comfortable to drive and the Team was able to iron out yesterday’s problems. I must thank them, as they have worked hard and long hours to make the car competitive. I am looking forward to the race tomorrow and will try and bring the car to the finishing line."

Tom Walkinshaw "The Team made a good effort in sorting out our problems and I am particularly pleased that Pedro did so well on his debut qualifying. We did not encounter any particular problems and we are hopeful to be able to bring home both cars at tomorrow’s race."
