Nick Heidfeld:
"My start was quite good but the accident at the first corner caused me to go off line around the outside and I lost places. The car wasn't easy to drive with a full fuel load, but it improved lap by lap. I was in eighth place when I made my one and only pit stop. Jean was very close behind me after the stop and he was a lot quicker because he was still to stop a second time. At the first corner, he touched me trying to overtake me on the inside. I saw him on the straight, but not when he was beside me in the corner. It's a shame because I was well-placed and neither of us was able to continue."

Jean Alesi:
"There's not much to say. I was quicker than Nick at the time of the incident. I didn't realise that he was unable to see me, and I was sure that he would let me past. I'm very disappointed, the only thing we can do now is to forget this weekend and work towards Hockenheim."
