The second day of this week's test began on Tuesday morning at the Circuit de Catalunya. Once again, Jenson Button was driving the new B.A.R Honda 006, alongside Takuma Sato in the '04 Concept car.

Takuma enjoyed a very positive morning and, after some early set-up laps, completed a performance run in which he beat Jenson's previously unbeaten time from yesterday to take the lap record for himself with a 1m 13.797s.

Jenson meanwhile completed a further 26 laps in the new car and recorded a fastest time of 1m 15.464s. Jenson and Takuma will continue the test on Wednesday - the final day of this week's test in Barcelona.

Geoffrey Willis Technical Director:

"We have now given both drivers the opportunity to try an absolute performance run on new tyres in order to gauge our progress. Even though Jenson and Takuma's times are not directly comparable, as the conditions were slightly better today and Takuma was running different tyres, it was still a very strong lap in the '04 Concept car. Takuma has further improved on the unofficial lap record and, once again, we have been able to show that we are making good progress in terms of performance."
