BRAZIL GRAND PRIX 9TH - 11TH APRIL 1999

Free Practice - April 9th 1999

In changing weather conditions from wet to dry the Arrows Team finished today's practice session for the Brazilian Grand Prix with Toranosuke Takagi in 18th and Pedro de la Rosa in 19th position.

Toranosuke Takagi - Car 15 - 18th "During the second practice session I encountered a puncture on my first set of dry tyres and had to return to the garage. I also experienced oversteer in the last corner, but this was not a major problem. The weather conditions prevented us from finding a comparison setting and we will have to find a better set up for tomorrow's qualifying session."

Pedro de la Rosa - Car 14 - 19th "I made a mistake during the first practice session when I spun off the track into the gravel and I could not continue to drive. Although I wanted to complete more laps, it gave me a taste of the circuit. I don't think the tyres are working at their best right now and we must work them harder to find more grip. We will obviously try and find the right set up for tomorrow's qualifying."

Prince Malik Ado Ibrahim: "After our encouraging result in Australia, the Team has worked hard to complete a series of tests in England and France. The track is challenging for our car and the ever changing weather conditions did not help us today to find a good set up . I am certain that we will be able to resolve this problem for tomorrow's qualifying.

Chassis Numbers: Takagi 02, de la Rosa 04, Spare 05
