It was a Parisian weekend for Michael Schumacher and Ferrari. The Prancing Horse pulled up for the two day event, giving the fans a chance to come into close contact with their heroes.
The world champion took part in a Race of Champions in the afternoon of Saturday 4 December in front of a crowd of sixty thousand. On the track the fans witnessed speed and rally specialists fight it out on a specially designed kilometre long circuit.
The Ferrari 360 Modena Challenge was one of the cars to feature. In front of Ferrari's Direttore Generale, Jean Todt, Michael Schumacher won the duel with the world champion French rally driver, Loeb. The Scuderia's German star won two races out of three.
On Sunday morning Michael Schumacher and the F2004 were the main attractions of an extraordinary parade along the famous Champs Elysees. Ferrari's Jean Todt also participated, on board an Enzo, with FIA president Max Mosley.
Four other models from the current Ferrari range also took part in the procession from the Arc de Triomphe to the Place de la Concorde. A 575 Maranello was driven by Patrick Tambay, Ren? Arnoux and director Luc Besson were at the wheel of a 360 Spider, Antonio Ghini, Director of Communication and Brand Management of Ferrari, and Andrea Castronovo, responsible of Ferrari West Europe, took the wheel of a 612 Scaglietti with Felipe Massa and Professor Gerard Saillant driving an F430.
The event was organised to celebrate the championship winning 2004 F1 season and was held in front of hundreds of thousands of people. The spectators demonstrated enormous affection for Ferrari and, in particular, Michael Schumacher. The reigning world champion frequently came to a complete standstill owing to the uncontrollable enthusiasm of the fans.
