This morning's practice session found Pedro de la Rosa and Jos Verstappen to be in good shape as the team continued to develop car set-up for the French circuit. Unfortunately however, minor car problems hindered performance during this afternoon's qualifying, with Pedro finishing the session 13th on the grid for tomorrow's race and Jos in an uncharacteristic 20th.
Pedro de la Rosa:
"It was an interesting qualifying session. Unfortunately I couldn't keep up
with the pace of my first run as I swapped into the t-car. I didn't feel
comfortable in it so couldn't improve my lap time which is a shame because
at that time I was in the top 10. We'll have to wait and see, but even so
I'm quite pleased with how everything worked and how quickly the team
prepared the t-car for me".
Jos Verstappen:
"I'm just very disappointed. The car was generally not right and I couldn't
feel any grip and didn't know where to start with what to change because it
just all felt wrong".
Tom Walkinshaw:
"It's obviously very disappointing for the team. Both the cars and the
drivers have it in them to be able to qualify higher on the grid, but
unfortunately circumstances today didn't allow our full potential to be
reached".
