Hungarian GP Saturday Minardi notes

Marc Gene:
"Compared to this morning's free practice, I did not achieve a full positive lap in my qualifying performance. It turned out impossible for me to post a good lap time in the first interim while I made some improvement in the second and third sectors. I was aware that this would be a difficult weekend and tomorrow's race will be even tougher. Today I tried to get the best out of my car and myself and honestly I was hoping I could score one place ahead of Jos Verstappen on the grid. For tomorrow the choice of the right strategy will be of paramount importance. I have a very good feeling with the car whose behaviour on this track is proving excellent."

Gaston Mazzacane:
"I feel fairly satisfied with today's performance if we consider all the mechanical problems I experienced yesterday and this morning, when a gearbox failure prevented me from exploiting the first 45 minutes during the free practice session. I could complete a very few amount of laps over these two days, therefore I was forced to make up for lost time looking for the ideal set-up in the qualifying. I believe we have done an excellent job, yet I am disappointed with myself because, while I was completing my best lap, I went out on the grass with the four wheels losing almost half of a second, as a result; without this mistake I would have finished 19th, so I lost the opportunity to be a little bit higher up on the starting grid. Unfortunately the remaining sets of tyres did not have the same grip as the previous one and I could not improve my time as I was losing a lot when I changed direction. Tomorrow morning it will be very important to exploit the warm-up as best as possible since we have not run enough with heavy fuel load on board."
