Martin Brundle returned home from Jerez this evening at the end of his first test with the Total Jordan Peugeot team. He completed almost 200 laps of the Spanish circuit during the course of the three days.

"I really enjoyed the test" said Martin, "The car has some very good points, and some not so good points - most of which I know have already been addressed in the `96 car There is plenty of work to do; however I really enjoyed myself both driving the car and in terms of the work we carried out - and I think that sums it all up best".

"Martin completed quite a bit of endurance work and continued our ongoing development programme with the `96 engine" explains Team Manager John Walton. "We also tested some modifications to the differential and did a bit of work on the chassis". He was joined on Thursday by Emmanuel Collard, who carried out some engine mapping for Peugeot,

"We were hampered a bit by the rather changeable track conditions, but it was still a pretty productive three days" reports Walton. "We had a few engine problems today (Thursday), but otherwise it was trouble-free and we got through a fair amount of work.

"As far as Martin is concerned; well it took him about 10 minutes to settle into the car and then he was straight into the testing programme. His feedback was excellent and he has a very professional approach. First impressions suggest that he will be a great source of motivation for the team and will make a significant contribution to our efforts" Walton concluded,

Best times:

Martin Brundle 1'27,50 (Thursday) Emmanuel Collard 1'27.90 (Thursday)
