New name for Minardi announced

Red Bull has announced that once it completes its takeover of Minardi on November 1st, the Italian squad will then be known as Squadra Toro Rosso. The name, unless it's not quite apparent, is Italian for Team Red Bull.

The driver complement was also confirmed, although not to which teams they will be assigned. David Coutlhard has already signed for the Red Bull team and the others are Christian Klien, Vitantonio Liuzzi, Scott Speed and Neel Jani.

Speculation has it that Klien will continue as Coulthard's teammate at Red Bull while Liuzzi and Speed will head the Toro Rosso squad with Jani, previously a sometime tester for Sauber, as test driver at either team.

Who will be the team boss for Toro Rosso is also a debated topic. BMW's Franz Tost has been suggested but Red Bull sporting director Christian Horner would not be drawn on the identity of his counterpart at the new team.

"I am sure in the fullness of time things will be confirmed officially," Horner said. "Obviously there is a great deal of speculation but I am sure, as I said, fairly shortly things will be officially confirmed."
