Team Sauber Petronas started its three-day test at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola today. Felipe Massa covered 69 laps in chassis C23-03 to set a best time of 1:22.028. Giancarlo Fisichella ran 62 laps in chassis C23-02 with a best time of 1:22.331.

Jacky Eeckelaert (Chief Race Engineer):

"Since Imola has similar characteristics as Melbourne we did some set-up work on both cars in view of the Australian Grand Prix. In the morning Felipe also tested different brake parts and various aero configurations. In the afternoon he evaluated several tyre compounds also as a preparation for the first race of the season."

"Giancarlo tested different damper settings which we had simulated before on the 7-post-rig in the factory. Tomorrow Giancarlo will continue the tyre test programme, while Felipe will do a race simulation."
