Team Sauber Petronas continued testing at Silverstone today as part of its preparation for the Canadian and British Grands Prix. Felipe Massa continued the driving, setting the 12th fastest lap time of 1m 24.800s in 39 laps. Nick Heidfeld will take over tomorrow, when the focus will switch to the tyre programme that we were not able to conduct because of the weather this afternoon, and set-up work specifically for Silverstone.

Jacky Eeckelaert (Race engineer):

"I'm pleased with the work that we did this morning as we continued to run the car in a specification configured for Montreal next week. This meant that Felipe was compromised for Silverstone, which is a faster track, so our lap times were not representative. We did not complete that programme this morning, so when it began to rain intermittently we continued it and will now conduct the intended tyre programme with Bridgestone with Nick tomorrow morning when the weather forecast is more promising."

Felipe Massa:

"The conditions were better this morning than they were yesterday, and though there was a high wind the track was dry. We worked through most of our intended schedule and continued it after lunch, when we also did some suspension set-up development. I had a spin just before the lunchbreak, but overall, apart from the frustrating weather, it's been another reasonably productive day."

Weather: Cloudy and windy but dry in morning, rain in afternoon.
Temperature: Track 26° Air 15-18°
Drivers: Felipe Massa on May 28-29 - Nick Heidfeld on May 30
Distance: 39 laps, 200,46 kms
Track Length: 5.14 kilometres
