INDIANAPOLIS, Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2001 - Information for spectators attending the SAP United States Grand Prix on Sept. 28-30 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway:

AT THE GATES:
*All coolers, backpacks and handbags will be subject to security inspection at the gates of the Speedway.

*Additional uniformed officers will be stationed at each gate to monitor inspections.

*Gates open at 7 a.m. (EST) Friday and Saturday, and 6 a.m. Sunday. Fans are encouraged to get to the track early to avoid delays at the gates due to heightened security.

COOLERS:
*Coolers are limited to 14 inches wide by 14 inches high. This policy will be strictly enforced.

GLASS CONTAINERS:
*Glass bottles and containers are strictly prohibited from being brought into the grounds.

PARKING:
*Ample parking is available at a variety of Speedway lots outside the track, as there is no parking inside the track during this event.

*Parking is available in the Speedway's "North 40" lot just north of the track off 30th Street. On practice and qualifying days, each person in the vehicle must pay gate admission in order to park in the lot.

*Adequate parking is also available in the Speedway's Lot 1, which is immediately adjacent to the northwest corner of the Speedway at 25th Street and Georgetown Road. Parking is $20 per day, or a four-day event package can be purchased in advance for $50 for automobiles and $100 for motorhomes by calling the ticket office at (317) 484-6700.

*Other available lots are on Georgetown Road, as well as the Speedway's Lot 3 along 16th Street. In addition, parking is available at private residences in the Town of Speedway, usually for a fee.

PHOTOGRAPHY:
*Photography and personal video equipment (camcorders) is permitted, but all bags are subject to search.

TRANSIT SERVICES:
*On Race Day, fans are encouraged to travel the IndyGo public transit services, which leave from the Airport and downtown Indianapolis on a regular basis. More information can be obtained by calling IndyGo at (317) 635-3344, or on the IndyGo Web site, www.indygo.net <http://www.indygo.net>..

SHOWING THE COLORS: *The first 100,000 fans through the gates will receive a small American flag to wave during the event.
